Bringing the farm to the child takes on a very? special meaning on The Farmyard Bus.? A converted double decker bus becomes a wealth of? information for school children in Darlington, Durham in the UK.


Larger animals are penned on the lower level for children to easily meet domestic animals face to face.?As they pass the pens, staff on board provide an educational introduction to children, with material that links into the primary school curriculum. Teachers are able to access classroom follow on lesson plans.

On the upper level smaller animals are able to be handled by children, who may never have connected eggs with chickens; or ducks with Peking Duck in the local Chinese menu. Ensuring that the students have a safe time, every detail is covered, including hand sanitisation as children disembark.
