Without a doubt, the most popular theme for a little girls birthday party currently is “Frozen”. Girls are into Elsa and Anna from when they are old enough to pronounce the names through until 7-8 years of age with Anna and Elsa costumes, pyjamas, toys and other merchandise readily and cheaply available from major variety stores and discount stores. Even Elsa and Anna patterns are available if you want to try your hand at making a costume.
Purchase your Frozen themed invitations, or do your own on your computer. There will be no doubt what the theme is, and ask guests to wear their Elsa and Anna costumes or PJ’s if they have them. Parents may not want to have to go out and purchase a costume so give them the option to simply come dressed in Aqua, Silver and white or similar attire.
Party hire and balloon shops are often a good place to source your serviettes, plates, cups balloons, and other decorations, depending on how far you want to go and how much you want to spend.
Those creative cooks amongst us can decorate cupcakes and birthday cakes with Aqua, silver and white icing with Frozen figurines, and icing snowflakes. With some forward planning, you can purchase snowflakes and all things to do with snow and ice around Christmas time. Keep an eye open for anything to do with snowflakes, as well as anything in Aqua, silver and white fabric for tablecloths and table decorations. Spotlight stores usually have an ample supply of Frozen fabrics. If you know anyone going to Bali, ask them to pick up any Frozen- themed merchandise for you.
Add some silver Aqua and white balloons and hang a few large snowflakes spray-painted silver and you are well on your way to having set the scene.
if you plan on having your party at home, or at a local park or community centre, entertainment that comes to you works well. The GymBus is a playground inside a double decker bus with 5 different rooms the girls can create their own Frozen Birthday Party movie. The GymBus parks outside your house or venue and has an entertainer to run the kids ragged for about an 1 hour, leaving Mum free to prepare the food and birthday cake. The average cost is around $355.00. When booking, be sure to let them know it’s a girls Frozen birthday party so the entertainer can incorporate the theme into the games and activities.
Have fun planning your girls birthday party and remember to get the kids involved writing out the invites, making up the lolly/loot bags and decorating the venue, they’ll love it!!
